Training November 8th, Head Coach's Report

Someone needs to tell the head coach he needs some skis!!
It never fails to amaze me how much fun we can have and how much the skiers can be challenged on an 80 metre slope in Alford.

Although the weather was less clement to us today, the groups were all fully engaged, with the coaches working hard to keep them on their toes.

John was using the full area of both slopes, making sure the balance skills of his trainees was being tested and developed to the full.

However, the highlight of the day had to be Kenny's one ski synchronised challenge with PS 1. I'm sure there will be videos and photos to follow. Safe to say, I'm sure there will be few pairs of sore legs tonight.

As ever the team racing at the end was closely challenged. Last week's defending champion wasn't there this week to hold the glory, so James stepped up a level and took this week's title. It was very close and I'm already looking forward to next week.

A big welcome to our new members. We've had lots of new skiers trialling over the last couple of weeks and it was great to see Autumn and Logan mixing it with their groups today.

Also, a big thanks to all who took part in the club sale today and a special thanks to Lynne for bringing along the new team clothing. I'm sure you will all agree it looks amazing. Make sure to place your orders in time for Xmas delivery, if you saw anything you liked.

We have an unhappy coach today who was (very fairly) beaten by 2 of the racers. Rachel and Andrew took today's honours, with a dead heat. We'll need to see who can step ahead next week.

Have a browse on the Blog and FB page too, as Paul has added some amazing photos of the skiers in action. Over the years Paul has captured thousands of action shots of the skiers and is always very quick to share them with the club.

See You All Next Week, Gary W
