This note is for those parents whose children's school struggles to make a team of four racers and thus attend the qualifiers. This year, as in the past, the rules permit two schools to join in order to provide opportunity to our smaller schools and typically more rurally located ski racers to compete. I am aware some parents have coordinated "mergers" in the past but for this season I am happy to assist and help communicate between our skiers parents with this issue. The basic details for the Alpine race series are as follows....
Format:
- Primary/Secondary school teams of 4 male and/or female skiers
- Schools may enter unlimited events/teams
- BLUE (Novice Team) or RED (Experienced Team) categories
- 2 timed runs over an open Combi or Giant Slalom course
- £5 entry + £15 Uplift Pass
- LECHT - Primary Wed 28th Jan. Secondary Thu 29th Jan
- GLENSHEE - Primary Wed 4th Feb. Secondary Thu 5th Feb
- NEVIS - Primary Wed 25th Feb. Secondary Thu 26th Feb
- CAIRNGORM - Primary Wed 4th Mar. Secondary Thu 5th Mar
- GLENCOE - Primary Wed 11th Mar. Secondary Thu 12th Mar
If you would like me to help in coordinating joint school teams then please contact me at rbmarshall31@gmail.com no later than Dec 1st. I will also provide parent support for the Lecht or Glenshee primary race qualifier day (depending which our Paul races at). Please note that my support for your child will be subject to whichever school attends that day and their approval for me to assist their own teacher(s).
I look forward to hearing from you if you would like some help.
Robert Marshall
