Snowsport Scotland Newsletter

We have received this email from Snowsport Scotland for all members:-

Dear Club Contact,

Just a quick note to let you know that a new newsletter was published and sent out last night. It is available at the following link - http://eepurl.com/Xz3r5

I would appreciate it if you could circulate this amongst your club members where appropriate.  Also, for those clubs involved in Alpine racing, entries for the Scottish Dryslope Alpine Championships (23-24th Aug) at Midlothian Snowsports Centre opened yesterday. Entry form is available here

Entries for the Scottish Indoor Freestyle Championships (30th August) at Snow Factor will also be going live soon. Again, with school holidays started/fast approaching it would be great if you could circulate this information with your club members who you may not have as much contact with over the Summer. If you have any further club events you’d like on our calendar and publicised then fill in the google form here.

Many thanks,

Graham

Important Notice!

Hello everyone,,

I know you must feel that it is all coming in one great rush having just received application forms for the FAST Christmas camp, but now that we know that the 2015 Delancey British National Alpine Ski Championships are taking place in Tignes, FAST needs to start preparing for what is always the biggest camp of the season and the climax of the British ski training and racing calendar.

First Meeting of The New Committee

The new Gordon Skiers committee met for the first time last week and thought you might like to hear some of our plans. As the new chairperson I am very lucky to have such enthusiastic folk working with me on the committee. The 3 main priorities agreed were coaching, sponsorship and communications. For those of you who have seen me skiing, you will be relieved to hear that Gary Whatford will be coaching the kids on our new coaching programmes. Gary will take on the combined roles of coaching convenor and head coach for next season (no pressure!). He is developing a performance squad and a development squad. More details will be circulated soon regarding this.

Twin Peaks Day 2, Hillend

Race Day at Hillend
Many thanks to coach Gary Whatford for this report on Day 2 at Hillend.

"Today is one of the best days’s I’ve ever seen at Hillend. Blue skies and high temperatures gave way to some red hot racing.

Solid performances from both girls, Rachael and Beth. Both had a pair of clean runs with Rachael placing 4’th in a very tough field in the under 16’s and Beth managing to take the Gold in the under 14’s.
