Summer Seeded Events, Info From Snowsport Scotland

With the Twin peaks coming up at the start of June and then the GBR Indoor and Scottish Indoor Alpine Championships (13-14th June) the races will start to use the new age categories:

• U10 – 2006 or younger
• U12 – 2004-05
• U14 – 2002-03
• U16 – 2000-01
• U18 – 1998-99
• U21 – 1995-97
• Senior – 1994 or older (Masters categories may apply)

This means that those born 2003 who have been in the U12 category and therefore have been eligible for a free registration will be moving into the U14 age category. To enter into seeded races (snow or artificial) they will be required to obtain a competitor licence from SSS before they race in the seeded races at a cost of £35 per racer with additional family members at a price of £25. This membership with be valid until 31/10/2016. Please pass this on to anyone in your club who may be affected by this.

15-16 Registrations

We are now able to accept 2015-16 registrations for competitors. Please complete the online form here and arrange payment to SSS by calling the office or by transferring the funds online.

British Ski & Snowboard will be accepting early bird applications for FIS licences from 8th May onwards and a home nations registration is required before that for any athlete looking to race in FIS races this year. If you register between 8th May and the end of June at the early bird rate it is far cheaper so would encourage this where possible!

I will be on annual leave until 11th May and will advertise the 15-16 membership more widely after that but with the seeded races fast approaching I would be grateful if you could pass this information to your club members where appropriate.
