Attention All Ski Racers And Shoppers!
The club has organised a day trip to the dry mat at Hillend on 22nd May and is subsidising the trip to keep the costs down…..£20 per racer and £10 for parents travelling with children. The cost includes lift pass, coaching, return bus transport and gate training. We are taking our own coaches and parent helpers. It's a fantastic place to ski (and close to shops!). The trip is open to all members but we are especially keen to encourage our younger members and those newer to racing to attend.
It promises to be a great day out and a good opportunity to train for the Twin Peaks dry mat races on 4th and 5th of June. This is always a fun weekend for the club with an opportunity for families to socialise together on the Saturday evening.
The club needs you to support these events so please sign up and if you any questions about either the Hillend trip in May or the Twin Peaks then please just ask."

Cairngorm Ski Club - Summer Indoor Ski Camp
Cairngorm Ski Club are trying to run a summer training camp at an indoor slope in Belgium. They need four more athletes to make it happen and have asked if any of our members would like to join them. See the info below for details.
"We are offering the opportunity for 10 of our athletes train on an indoor ski dome in Belgium this summer. Dates 31st July-4th August
.
- The camp is for ages 11 to 17
- This is a 4 day session with slalom training and dry land training.
- There will be 8 x 2 hour sessions on snow. This will be primarily gate training.
- Dry land fitness and stretches in between times.
- Included is accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel is 1km from the snow dome and the expectation is that we can walk between the 2 venues. Access to the snow dome for the days we are there, training lanes and coaching.
- There will be one coach and one parent helper.
- As this is an indoor environment with consistent elements and conditions it allows the skiers to really focus on the details of their technique which provides an intensive training opportunity.
- Cost of the camp excluding flights estimate is £400
- To book we require a deposit of £100 to be paid to the club with your name and date of birth e-mailed to secretary@cairngormskiclub.co.uk"

Hillend Trip, 22nd May 2016
Calling all skiers who fancy a fun day out to Edinburgh…….Hillend is a fantastic dry mat slope and the club has organised a day trip by bus from Westhill to Hillend, Edinburgh on Sunday 22nd May. The plan is to arrive at Hillend for some lunch at about 12pm, then for free skiing from 1pm to 2pm, followed by race training with gates 2pm to 4pm. We will have our own coaches and parent helpers. The club is subsidising part of the cost. For each racer the cost will be £20 and £10 for parents accompanying their children on the bus. The cost includes return bus trip, ski passes, coaching and slope hire with gates. We would love to encourage our younger members and those newer to racing to join us for the trip as well as those who have skied and raced at Hillend before. It's also a great practice for those planning to compete at the Twin Peaks races in June (4th at Tillicoutry and 5th at Hillend). This is always a good weekend for the club with families often staying together in one of the hotels in Edinburgh on Saturday night.
It will be a fun day and a great opportunity to gain some experience and confidence racing on a superb slope. If you have any queries then please just let me know.
Places are limited so check your diaries and sign up!
